Obituary for Nannie Pauline Strong

Nannie Pauline Whicker Strong 90 passed away at Madison Health & Rehab after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. We are blessed to know that she was a Christian saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and she is with our Lord.
She was born in Jackson County ,Kentucky on July 7th 1930 to William and Narciss Gabbard Whicker. She sold Avon, Stanley Products for many years and worked at Eastern, Madison Health & Rehab, and Clays Ferry Truck Stop. She loved working in the yard with her many flowers. Her favorite color was red, friends and family knew that about her.
In 1947 she married the late William Harvey Strong and together they raised a family of eight children.
She is survived by: six children, Shirley Barnes (Peewee), Marcia Hamilton (Danny), Connie Sims (Bill), Larry Strong, John Wilson Strong, and Donnie Strong (Susie); nine grand children, Shirley “Siss” Brown, Stephanie Oreily, Donnie “Babe” Strong, Ronnie “Tiny” Strong, Will Strong, Everette Wayne “Bobo” Strong, Larry “Chub” Strong, Chris Strong, Timmy Perkins; 21 great-grand children; as well as a host of other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons. Ronnie Strong and Everette Wayne Strong; three very special daughter-in-laws, Wanda Foster Strong, Paula Cunnliffe Strong, and Sharon Whitis Strong; and five sisters.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2020, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Scott Guiley & Bro. Owen Moody officiating. Burial will follow at the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Donnie Strong Sr., John Wilson Strong, Larry Strong Sr., Larry “Chub” Strong Donnie “Babe” Strong, and Will Strong.
