Obituary for Maxine Tate Patton

Ms. Maxine May Tate Patton, 70, of Richmond, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital - East due to complications from knee surgery.
Ms. Patton, the daughter of Gordon May Tate and Audrey Malott Tate, was born on October 14, 1948 in Madison County. Earlier in life, she was the Owner and Operator of Country Kettle and then Maxine’s Restaurant. Most recently, she had served as a caregiver. She was a member of Waco Church of the Nazarene and had been a part of the Wednesday Morning Women’s Bowling League for many years. Maxine loved people and always was ready to take a trip. She enjoyed playing all types of games and was a “gamer” before gaming was even cool.
Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law: James Monroe and Lisa Gail Patton; her daughter and son-in-law: Danetta Patton and William Worth Kilby; four brothers: her twin Maxie Allen Tate, Raymond (& Brenda) Tate, Harold Dean Tate, Donnie (& Delores) Tate; two sisters: Wilma (& Russell) Thomas and Gladys Spillman; five grandchildren: Caswell Augustus Patton, Cullen Octavius Patton, Audrena MaRai Kilby, Bobbie Jo (& Brett) Epstein and Mary Kilby; her great grandson: Maxton Worth Kilby; one sister-in-law: Mary (& Ken) Weitkamp; one brother-in-law: Tommy Halcomb and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Patton was preceded in death two brothers: Richard Tate and Caswell Tate and four sisters: Dorothy Wall, Janet Smith, Joyce Halcomb and an infant sister and two grandchildren: James Aaron Patton and James “Erik” Patton.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Richard Tate officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
