Obituary for Mary Lois Burns

Mary Lois Burns, 86, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Lancaster, Kentucky.
She was born on Sunday, November 26, 1933 in Madison County, Ky., the daughter of Finley and Earsie Abney Holbrook. She graduated from Waco High School in 1953 and served as Cafeteria Supervisor of Waco Elementary School until her retirement. She was an active and founding member of Harris Memorial Baptist Church, where she served as pianist for many years. She enjoyed playing piano, cooking, gardening and crocheting, and especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Glenmore Tackett in 1955 and Herchel Burns in 1993; a sister, Shirley Bowman and a brother, Finley Holbrook, Jr.
Survivors include four children, Pat Aldridge (Ronnie), Charlene Livesay (Mike), Donald Burns (Fonda) and David Burns (Kimberly); 7 Grandchildren, Ronnie Aldridge, Jr., Cathy Aldridge-Smith, Christi Sexton, Melanie Tribble, Christopher Burns, Jennifer McGee-Pullins, Matthew Burns and Victoria Paige Hall; 11 Great-grandchildren; siblings, Vena Miller and Jean Crane (JB); numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow in Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Burns, Christopher Burns, Austin Willoughby, Ronnie Aldridge, Jr., Jacob Aldridge, Tony Smith, William Tate Renzenbrink and Edwin Reece Renzenbrink.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cathy Aldridge-Smith, Christi Sexton, Melanie Tribble, Jennifer McGee-Pullins and Victoria Paige Hall.
Current Social Distancing will be observed.
