Mrs. Janice Darlene Renfro, 72 years old, stepped into heaven on Friday, June 12, 2020 at home following a long illness. She was surrounded by close family.
Janice was born in Richmond, Kentucky on June 15, 1947, to the late John Henry and Mattie Payne. She was a charter member of The Richmond House of Prayer, where she led the Ladies Ministries for several years. She enjoyed singing and her passion was serving God and leading others to him.
She is survived by her husband of almost 54 years, Lonnie H. Renfro; one daughter: Katrina Fields (David); two grandchildren: Brooke Martin (Josh) and Logan Fields; one very special great-grandchild: Kennedy Faith Martin; one brother: Rev. Phillip Payne (Alveria); her best friend since early childhood: Judy Hager and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends and family will be received from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at The Richmond House of Prayer. Her funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with her brother-in-law Rev. Owen Moody and her nephew, Rev. Dale Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens. Current Social Distancing guidelines will be observed. Pallbearers will be her two grandsons: Logan Fields and Josh Martin, and her great nephews: Dylan Ballard, Blake Ballard, Jacob Spencer and Chase Spencer.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
