Obituary for Geneva Bowling

Geneva Bowling, 89, of Kirksville, widow of Billy Bowling, Sr., passed away Monday, May 11, 2020.
She was born in Garrard Co., Ky. on Sunday, June 14, 1930, the daughter of the late Thomas and Hazel Robinson Ray. She worked as a seamstress for many years with Cowden Manufacturing and was a former employee of Dresser Industries and Begley Drugs. She enjoyed crocheting, quiltmaking, camping and fishing. Her winters spent in Florida were some of her favorite times. Geneva enjoyed spending time with her family – her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a member of the Paint Lick Methodist Church for 70 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Bowling, of Danville; one son, Billy Bowling, Jr. (Kathy), of Kirksville; grandchildren, Cynthia Russell (Chad), Amy Arnold (Kristoffer), Jamie Beth Clark (Jeff), and Russ Bowling (Janie); great-grandchildren, Kole Arnold, Jack Bowling, Maecy Arnold, Jackson Clark and Jacob Clark; a brother, Donald Ray; two sisters, Betty Karnes (Steve) and Rosie Lear; her loving cat, Joker; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Hartman and Wayne Ray.
Due to health concerns a private family service will be held on Friday in the Lancaster Cemetery with Rev. Thadius Sales officiating.
Pallbearers will be Russ Bowling, Chad Russell, Kristoffer Arnold, Kole Arnold and Jack Bowling.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill West, Joe Brown, Roger Hatfield and Charlie Gruen.
Services are under the direction of Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
